Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) ist ein Bundesgesetz (44 CFR Subpart B), das besagt, dass Medicaid alle medizinisch notwendigen Gesundheitsleistungen für Medicaid-berechtigte Kinder unter 21 Jahren erbringen muss. Selbst wenn eine Leistung nicht im Rahmen des NC Medicaid State Plan abgedeckt ist, kann sie für Begünstigte unter 21 Jahren abgedeckt werden, wenn die Leistung in 1905(a) des Social Security Act aufgeführt ist und alle EPSDT-Kriterien erfüllt sind.

Im Rahmen von TCM wird den Anspruchsberechtigten ein einziger Care Manager zugewiesen, der von einem multidisziplinären Team unterstützt wird, um ein integriertes Versorgungsmanagement zu bieten, das auf die ganzheitlichen Gesundheitsbedürfnisse des Anspruchsberechtigten eingeht.
