Christy Moore joined ECAC in October 2019 as a Parent Educator. Previously, Christy worked with state level agencies, universities, and national organizations to support and educate families and professionals in human service fields on family engagement best practices. Christy became interested in working with families who have children with special needs shortly after her youngest daughter was born in 2010. Her areas of interest include special education, early intervention, oral health, sexual health and safety, environmental health and nutrition. Christy holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her lived experience includes being a wife to her husband, Jay, and mother of two daughters, Katie and Kelsey, all of whom have special health care needs.
