FREE WEBINAR! A Guide to Guardianship

Pursuing guardianship is a deeply personal decision and can be difficult to navigate. “A Guide to Guardianship” is a training put on by student attorneys from the Duke Children’s Law Clinic to provide individuals with information, resources, and guidance to clarify the process. The training is designed to explain what guardianship is, what guardianship options may be available, which factors to consider when deciding if a guardianship is appropriate for you, and how to obtain guardianship. Topics to be covered include but are not limited to: common reasons for guardianship, qualifications to become a guardian, responsibilities of a guardian, paperwork and costs associated with filing for guardianship, the rights of a ward once a guardianship is in place, terminating a guardianship, and alternatives to guardianship.
