Meet the ECAC Staff – Denise Weir

What brought you to ECAC and tell us about your current role?

Eighteen years ago, I needed a part-time job so that I could go to my daughter's school to give her insulin. ECAC was the perfect place for me. I grew in the organization from part-time Accounts Payable to full-time Human Resources and love it.

Why do you love being a part of ECAC?

The heart and passion of our staff. Our staff have such big hearts and a passion to help other parents, wanting the best for their child(ren) and their fellow staff members too.

What keeps you motivated and inspired?

Knowing that what we do helps other parents experiencing struggles we had/have ourselves - that what we do makes a difference.

What is one piece of advice you would like to give to the parents you work with?

This is something someone at ECAC told me. During the struggles in life, when you have a good day when a goal is accomplished or when your child did something really good, put it in your memory vault because when/if you have other struggles or difficulties - you can always go to your vault and remind yourself, there are good days too!
