What brought you to ECAC and tell us about your current role?

As a special education teacher, I frequently used ECAC's resources to help support my own knowledge as well as the families around me. After having my own child with special needs, my focus changed to wanting to help families like mine. I currently serve as a parent educator, helping families navigate questions and concerns, as well as I work with the Preschool Development Grant to help families learn about early intervention as well as the transition to preschool services and then later to kindergarten.

Why do you love being a part of ECAC?

ECAC is a big family, and they have been so supportive of my family. I also love helping parents to understand more about the special needs process.

What is the most memorable event you have attended with ECAC?

I attended a Transition to preschool event, where parents had lots of great questions, and I genuinely felt that I had been able to provide support and resources that were helpful.

What keeps you motivated and inspired?

My coworkers are amazing, and they always keep me inspired! They are thoughtful and kind.

What is one piece of advice you would like to give to the parents you work with?

Put everything in writing, keep all of your paperwork and regularly ask to see and review the data.

Tell us more about your life outside of ECAC.

I am a single mom to a super special boy who has a trach/vent/G tube. I love going to the movies!

One thing people may not know about me…

I still love Disney movies!
