Beverly Roberts Receives the NC DPI Office of Exceptional Children Impact Award

The Exceptional Children's Assistance Center (ECAC) is proud to announce that Beverly Roberts is a recipient of the 2023 North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Office of Exceptional Children Impact Award.

Beverly has worked for ECAC for over twenty-five years. She currently services as the Family Engagement Coordinator as well as the North Carolina State Improvement Project (NCSIP) Coordinator. Beverly has positively impacted the lives of countless families throughout North Carolina with her thoughtful and caring nature and desire to help and make a difference. Through the years she has been involved in many community and statewide programs that provide support and information to families of children with disabilities. Beverly grew up in Wake Forest, NC, and is a graduate of North Carolina State University.

This was the first year presenting the Impact Award.  The criteria included:
  • partnered with NCSIP initiatives for an extended period of time
  • participated in content development of courses, supporting professional learning, resources, or documents
  • expanded NC SIP goals, partnerships, and/or support throughout the state and/or nation
