Davidson, North Carolina – The Board of Directors of the Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center (ECAC) is pleased to announce that they have chosen Aimee Combs as the Executive Director as of January 2, 2024. Incorporated in 1986, ECAC is a statewide, full-service parent center with a variety of programs for families of children and youth with disabilities and special health care needs ages birth to 26. ECAC has the federal designation of NC’s Parent Center and operates the Parent Training and Information Center (PTI).

Aimee has been employed at ECAC for more than 10 years. She began her career at ECAC as a Parent Educator, supporting families of children with disabilities in navigating the special education systems. Aimee has held the roles of Parent Educator, PTI Assistant Manager, PTI Manager, and Assistant Director. As Assistant Director, Aimee provided oversight to all of ECAC's grants that serve families and children. Aimee is also the parent of a young adult son with disabilities. Her lived experience as a parent and her tenure at ECAC ensures a smooth transition for families, staff, and stakeholders.

The Board of Directors has great confidence in Aimee’s abilities to continue ECAC’s work to improve the lives and education of ALL children through an emphasis on children with disabilities and special health care needs. Please join us in welcoming Aimee!
