CALL FOR PROPOSALS!
Published: March 22, 2022
The Exceptional Children's Assistance Center (ECAC) is excited to host our second Family Leadership Summit on June 3rd & 4th, 2022 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh. The title of this year's summit is "Ready, Set, LEAD! Leadership • Empowerment • Advocacy • Development".  The goal of this summit is to support family leaders in all levels of leadership, from the individual to the national level. The audience will be families who have children or youth with disabilities ages birth to 26 years, who are interested in learning how to enhance their leadership skills.  Sessions will focus on individual leadership skills, supporting other families, and improving the systems that serve families and youth, and influencing policies through advocacy. The audience will also include early childhood professionals who serve on their Local Interagency Coordinating Councils (LICCs) to support family engagement and leadership on LICCs!
This call for proposals is asking for 90 minutes presentations on various topics related to effective family leadership and advocacy that will be offered during breakout sessions. We plan to have 3 breakout sessions, with 3 concurrent sessions each (for a total of 9 breakout sessions). The audience will be approximately 25 people for each session. Sessions will be held on Friday afternoon (June 3rd) and Saturday morning (June 4th). You can indicate your preferred day in the application below. We will try our best to accommodate preferences.
