Math for All: Family Resources to Support Diverse Learners

Welcome to the North Carolina State Improvement Project (NC SIP) Math Resources page. Math is a key life skill that helps children build confidence and navigate everyday situations. For children with disabilities, developing math skills can open doors to greater independence and future opportunities. Schools and teachers play an essential role, but the best outcomes happen when families and educators work together. Hope you’ll find these tools, tips, and strategies helpful as you support your child’s math growth at home. These activities are designed to help you make the most of everyday teachable moments.  Every child is different, so not every activity will be the right fit for your child. Feel free to adjust or modify to better meet your child’s individual needs.

Families are essential to the growth and development of students. The positive impact on a child’s academic and emotional well-being is evident in the numerous research studies conducted for over 50 years. Below are some resources that can help families begin to take positive steps forward in partnering with schools to support their student’s achievement.

Chère équipe de la CEAC,

J'espère que cette lettre vous trouvera en bonne santé. Je tiens à vous remercier tous chaleureusement pour votre travail. A Mme Aimee Combs, je vous remercie de continuer à défendre les intérêts des jeunes et des jeunes adultes handicapés et de me permettre d'avoir une place à la table. Je suis très reconnaissante d'avoir rencontré tous les membres du personnel, et votre passion pour ce que vous faites est contagieuse.

Lorsque j'ai pris contact avec Mme Debra Pickens et que j'ai renoué avec mon ami et collègue Billy Pickens, je n'avais aucune idée de ce qui m'attendait. J'ai eu l'honneur de participer en tant que voix aux événements suivants : The Duke Univ Health Equity Rounds, NCSU Family Leadership Summit, ECU Inclusion Summit et Partners in Learning Conference, sans oublier les nombreuses opportunités et événements YAT.

Toutes ces opportunités, et bien d'autres encore, ont eu un impact durable sur moi et continuent à servir de référence dans mes relations avec d'autres organisations. Je vous remercie d'avoir investi en moi et dans la mission que j'ai été appelée à remplir en défendant, créant et servant nos communautés communes de personnes handicapées. J'attends avec impatience d'autres occasions de construire sur les relations établies, et d'autres occasions d'aider, de collaborer et d'apprendre de vous tous, alors que vous continuez à avoir un impact sur notre État, ma génération ainsi que sur les défenseurs actuels et futurs.
