Katie McGuire

Katie joined ECAC in 2026 as a Transition Coach, bringing experience and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. Prior to joining ECAC, she worked as a Special Education teacher serving students who followed the Extended Content Standards. As a Transition Coach, Katie supports youth with disabilities as they explore career and employment opportunities, develop self-advocacy skills, build independence, and prepare for adulthood. She is passionate about helping individuals recognize their strengths, develop their skills, and reach their goals while honoring and celebrating who they are. Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Special Education, specializing in Adapted Curriculum, both from UNC Charlotte. She also earned a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, playing softball, and getting creative with crafts. She is a wife and caregiver to a U.S. Army veteran and a mom to two daughters, the youngest of whom has special healthcare needs.
