Alyssa Hannon

Alyssa is a former Exceptional Children’s teacher and Special Olympics coach with a passion for empowering students of all abilities. Her work with individuals with varying needs began in high school and continued through her time at UNC Wilmington, eventually leading to a career in public education. Alyssa is a strong advocate for student independence and self-reliance, always striving to help each learner reach their fullest potential. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys surfing, spending time at the beach, running, hiking, traveling, and making memories with friends and family.
