FULL TIME INNOVATIVE APPROACHES (IA) 2.0 COORDINATOR

The purpose of Innovative Approaches 2.0 is to enhance community systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) and their families. Innovative Approaches (IA) uses a family-driven system change approach rather than a program-based approach to address community improvements for families of CYSHCN. ECAC’s Innovative Approaches 2.0 initiative will focus system change efforts within two key areas of focus which include (1) health care transition from pediatric to adult care and (2) emergency preparedness. This initiative is funded by the NC Division of Child and Family Well-Being, Whole Child Health Section.
The Innovative Approaches Coordinator directs and oversees all effort to improve the community-wide (Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston and Lincoln counties) systems of care to best meet the needs of families of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN). This position qualifies as fully remote with occasional in-person staff meetings and workshops.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE IA 2.0 COORDINATOR
Program Leadership & Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Innovative Approaches (IA) 2.0 activities within the
assigned county/catchment area - Lead and sustain multi-sector collaborations including families/caregivers, health care providers,
emergency management, schools, public health agencies, and disability-serving organizations - Plan, coordinate, and facilitate IA 2.0 Steering Committee meetings, including agenda
development, meeting logistics, documentation, and follow-up on action items - Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of family-driven systems change action
plans in the focus areas of Health Care Transition and Emergency Preparedness - Promote sustainable practice, policy, and procedural changes that strengthen systems
supporting CYSHCN and their families - Lead and support development of a sustainability plan to ensure long-term impact beyond the
grant period - Ensure family and youth voices are authentically embedded in all IA 2.0 activities, decision-making, and deliverables
- Support Steering Committee participation goals, including maintaining at least 50% representation of CYSHCN parents/caregivers
- Clearly communicate ECAC’s IA 2.0 initiative purpose, goals, and desired outcomes to stakeholders and community partners
- Lead outreach and recruitment efforts to engage diverse families and stakeholders reflective of the local community
- Track program activities and outcomes, ensuring accurate documentation to support continuous quality improvement and grant compliance
- Collaborate with ECAC staff and community partners to align project activities with timelines, deliverables, and expectations
- Identify barriers to participation and recommend strategies to improve accessibility and inclusion (e.g., language access, transportation, scheduling, virtual options)
- Attend IA state meetings, IA programmatic meetings, and ECAC organizational meetings
Data Collection, Evaluation & Reporting
- Lead and contribute to the development and refinement of data collection tools (e.g., surveys,
interview guides, focus group protocols) to support evaluation and learning - Coordinate the distribution, administration, and collection of data tools across stakeholders,
partners, and community participants - Facilitate qualitative data collection activities, including focus groups and key informant
interviews, using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices - Coordinate recruitment, scheduling, and logistics for data collection activities to ensure timely
and organized implementation - Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify themes, trends, and actionable insights
- Develop summaries, reports, visual data products, and presentations for internal and external
audiences - Present findings and recommendations to the IA Steering Committee to support decision-making and program improvement
- Ensure data quality, confidentiality, and adherence to evaluation protocols and ethical standards
- Write and submit by the due date, quarterly and annual reports, sustainability plans, Scope of Work, and related documentation to the Division of Child and Family Well Being once approved by the IA Program Manager
- Enter and maintain required project data in Salesforce in accordance with organizational policy
Technology
- Effectively use Zoom for webinars and external meetings and Google Meet for internal meetings
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Use Google Workspace tools (e.g., Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar) for communication,
collaboration, and file management
Financial & Administrative
- Follow ECAC policies and procedures for travel reimbursement
- Follow ECAC Policies and procedures for IA family stipends
- Submit timesheets accurately and on time in accordance with established guidelines
- Identify and recommend cost-saving strategies to support efficient use of grant funds
- Operate within the designated IA budget and funding requirements
Educación
- Master’s degree in public or human services administration or related human services field, with
at least one year of experience in program planning or administration; OR - Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience in a human services program; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other
- IA Coordinator must live in one of the four counties served: Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston or Lincoln, OR in one of the counties immediately adjacent to one of these 4 counties.
- Represents ECAC, as assigned, at meetings of selected task force groups, interagency councils, advisory board, commissions, etc.
- Attend other meetings/trainings as required
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends

Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: $24.00 per hour with generous paid leave, retirement and health benefits
