Say What? Youth Perspectives on Person First Language
Join ECAC’s Youth Advisory Team as they share their perspectives on Person First Language. Person First Language or People First Language puts the person before the disability or diagnosis, describing what a person “has” rather than asserting what a person “is”. The purpose of the conversation is to give youth the opportunity to share their unique perspectives on this popular topic.
At the conclusion of this webinar, Participants will be able to:
• Define Person First Language
• Give examples of different ways to refer to themselves or others
• Decide which language is right for them
Closed captioning will be provided.
