Identifying Specific Learning Disability in North Carolina
In July 2020, public schools across North Carolina began following a new special education policy that changes how children are identified as having a specific learning disability. This presentation will explain the requirements that schools must meet, steps in the process and some of the special education terms that you may hear. Parents and professionals who work with school-age children should understand the new rules so that they can effectively work with schools to meet the needs of children who may have learning disabilities.
