Position Title:  Early Intervention Project Coordinator

Reports to: Early Intervention Project Manager

This is a grant funded program.


Implements the Preschool Development Grant

Work closely with ECAC management and assigned staff at the Department of Public Health, Early Intervention Branch (E/I Branch) to ensure coordination of grant activities.

  • Attend E/I Branch meetings and/or any other meetings as requested
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance family engagement with the State Interagency
  • Coordinating Council (ICC)
  • Provide ongoing support to the state ICC around family engagement
  • Connect with Local Interagency Coordinating Councils (LICCs) to enhance family engagement
  • Work the State LICC to develop a process for paying families for their time
  • Take the lead on planning and executing the LICC Conferences
  • Design up to 5 Tools/Materials for families around early intervention
  • Host 2 webinars for practitioners on authentic engagement with families
  • Identify online learning opportunities for CDSA’s around family engagement and support
  • Participate on PDG Family Engagement Accelerator Team
  • Implement 3 LICC conferences
  • Approval payments for family participation 


  • Assist with the Early Intervention ECAC website page
  • Add data into Salesforce
  • Use virtual meeting platforms
  • Microsoft Suite of Software
  • Electronic newsletter editor


  • Work with EI Manager on project budget
  • Process expense reports


  • Attending other meetings/trainings as required
  • Ability to lift, on occasion, up to 20 pounds
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor


  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience


  • Experience with young children with disabilities
  • Experience with Early Invention system
  • Experience leading small groups
  • Experience with training/adult education
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Experience with design of flyers or infographics


  • Knowledge of the early intervention
  • Knowledge of special education system
  • Knowledge of family service organizations
  • Knowledge of parenting an individual with disabilities
  • Knowledge of family engagement strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours: 40 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 depending on qualification and experience

Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Location: Must be within the state of North Carolina
