Position Title: Early Intervention Engagement Specialist
Reports to: Early Intervention Project Manager
This is a grant funded program
PROGRAM
- Design and implement activities to engage families of very young children in LICC and other local, state
and national meetings. - Design and implement activities to prepare Local Interagency Coordinating Councils (LICCs) to engage
families - Work with LICCs to develop procedures for paying families for their participant
- Connect with other groups working with families with very young children
- Provide training to families to facilitate a smooth transition out of Early Intervention into public
preschool - Provide trainings on family engagement and leadership
- Develop recruitment materials for family participation in LICC meetings
- Connect families with community resource
- Collaborate with E/I Project Manager to implement 3 LICC conferences
- Recruit families to participate on the Family Engagement Committee
- Process payment for family participation on both the State LICC and the LICCs
TECHNOLOGY
- Assist manager with the Early Intervention ECAC website page
- Add data into Salesforce
- Use virtual meeting platforms
- Microsoft Suite of Software
FINANCIAL
- Work with Accounting Assistant to develop payment to families system
- Process expense reports
OTHER
- Attending other meetings/trainings as required
- Ability to lift, on occasion, up to 20 pounds
- Other duties as requested by supervisor
EDUCATION
Some College
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with young children with disabilities
- Experience with Early Intervention System
- Experience leading small groups
- Experience with training/adult education
- Experience with design of flyers or infographics
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of early intervention
- Knowledge of special education system
- Knowledge of family service/support organizations
- Knowledge of family engagement strategies
- Knowledge of parenting an individual with disabilities
- Good networking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 depending on qualification and experience
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Location: Must be within the state of North Carolina
